- "The designer and illustrator Olly Moss likes to keep things simple. Sort of. His newest project for Mondo — the limited-edition art print arm of the Alamo Drafthouse theater chain in Austin, Tex. — is a pair of posters for the film “Captain America,” which storms the nation’s multiplexes on July 22. Resembling propaganda fliers from World War II, each poster is 18 by 24 inches and screen-printed in a run of 375. They are expected to sell out within minutes of going on sale."

- "SAUL BASS (1920-1996) was not only one of the great graphic designers of the mid-20th century but the undisputed master of film title design thanks to his collaborations with Alfred Hitchcock, Otto Preminger and Martin Scorsese."
http://designmuseum.org/design/saul-bass

- "Saul Bass' body of work distinguishes him as one of the most versatile and innovative graphic designers of the 20th Century. Alongside his talent for creating definitive visual references in the form of film poster campaigns and title sequences stands his later work as an Academy Award Winning director for his short film 'Why Man Creates' (1969). In the course of his career, Bass worked with Otto Preminger and Alfred Hitchcock, and his legacy is evident in the work of numerous contemporary designers and directors. But it is his posters that are currently causing the biggest stir."

"When the double-feature movie "Grindhouse" was in the planning stages, filmmakers Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino sat down with Kurt Volk, the graphic designer and art director at Rodriguez's Austin-based Troublemaker Studios. They knew what they wanted throwback designs, images and taglines that resurrected the lurid stylings of vintage drive-in and grindhouse posters, down to the most authentic, raunchy details. They wanted the real deal."
